BLACK MATTER – 38 Minutes of Dark Sequences by Erica Black System III

A while ago I had the pleasure to mess around with Erica Synths’ BLACK SYSTEM III ... and oh boy, WHAT a BEAST of a synth!

I’m not too deep into the modular game, but once I’m grown up, I will own one of these. It has everything you would need for basslines, textures, cutting lead synths or even pads and chords, which isn’t ultimately common in the modular game. Plus effects and a capable sequencer, which I just touched on the surface – and already got goosebumps.

Therefore I recorded about 38 minutes of pure fun with that machine. 38 minutes of sounds, joy and sequences. I didn’t record them blindly – so don’t expect endless drones – but with an arrangement in mind, so you can load them into your tracks right away and they should already make sense and create tension in context. But of course feel invited to slice, cut and mangle them at taste!
